2011 Heart and Sole "Going the Distance" Race Information
Half marathon will offer Cash Prizes this year: Male & Female 1st Place Overall $250.00, 2nd place overall $175.00, 3rd Place overall $100.00.
Half Marathon and Half Marathon Relay starts at 8:00 AM --- 5K starts at 9:00 AM.
Entry fees
5K - $25.00 until race day and goes to $30 on race day.
Half Marathon - $60.00 until June 30th, $65.00 until August 15, $70.00 until race day.
Half Marathon Relay - $80.00 until June 30th, $85.00 until August 15, $90.00 until race day.
Online registration with credit card payment ends on September 29th and incurs a card processing fee.
Online registration with mail-in payment ends on September 27th and a $5 handling charge will be added.
There will be no relay registration on race day.
You must register by September 15th to receive a t-shirt and be guaranteed a finishers medal day of race. Finishers medal will be given to half marathon and relay participants.
The half marathon relay is a 2-person relay. The first leg of the race will be 6.2 miles and second leg 6.9 miles. The Half Marathon and 5k is a mix of flat and rolling hills and a mix of city streets and downtown neighborhoods. There will be water stations approximately every mile on the course. There will be water at every station and most will also have gatorade. There will be pretzels and cookies at several stations throughout the half marathon course. There will be gu at mile 6. The course will be supervised by volunteers and police support throughout the course. The course will remain open for 3 1/2 hours for the half marathon and relay. That is a 16 minute per mile pace. Participants not meeting that time frame will be picked up and returned to start.
All half marathon and half marathon relay participants will receive a custom finishers medal.
After the race there will be a band playing and a catered brunch offered to all participants free of charge. Family and friends can purchase tickets for $5.00 each.
Proceeds go to Cardiology Associates Foundation and are ear marked for health screenings and heart disease risk assessment throughout NE Arkansas.
This is a champion chip timed event. You are responsible to return your chip.
Friday September 30 , 2011 Registration and early packet pick will be at Cardiology Associates, 201 East Oak from 4 till 7 pm.
Saturday October 1st Race morning registration and packet pickup for half marathon and relay will be from 6:45 till 7:45 at Cardiology Associates.
Saturday morning 5k registration and packet pick up will be until 8:45 at Cardiology Associates
